Pair of original WWII German WHW (Winterhilfswerk) Austrian Donation Badges, also known as Trachten-Abzeichen, produced during the Third Reich era as charity memorabilia. The duo includes the Kärnten brooch in a molded blue plastic frame featuring a machine-embroidered silken thread insert showing a woman in a blue dirndl and red headscarf, as well as the Niederdonau brooch in a cream plastic frame depicting a woman in profile wearing a dark coat and blue patterned skirt. Both badges have cream cloth bases and are fitted with intact rear horizontal steel safety pin mechanisms. The fabric inserts display light age-toning, and both pieces are fully authentic and complete. Each item measures 1.75 inches in height and 1.25 inches in width. SC
