Title: Blue Footbridge over a Lily Pond in Golden Foliage Technique: Oil on canvas Measures: 29 x 21 inches (73.7 x 53.3 cm) Year: Undated Condition: Appears in generally good visual condition based on the photographs supplied, with bright coloration and thickly applied, raised brushwork throughout the foliage, bridge, and water. No significant paint losses or tears are apparent in the available images. Minor surface irregularities, light handling marks, and age-related wear may be present. Presented in an ornate carved gilt frame with deeply sculpted foliate and scroll motifs, showing variations in the gilded finish and darker toning within the recesses. Not examined out of the frame. Provenance: Private Colelction Visual Description: A sunlit garden scene in vertical format, dominated by an arched footbridge that spans the full width of the canvas just above the center. The bridge is painted in deep navy, cobalt, and slate blue, its railings highlighted with short dashes of white that catch the light. Clusters of green, olive, and rust-brown foliage spill over and through the railings, partially veiling the structure. Behind it, a dense canopy of trees glows in golden yellow, lemon, chartreuse, and cream, built from small, dabbed strokes that suggest leaves shimmering in strong light, framed at the top by darker green masses. Beneath the bridge, a row of dark green conical shrubs stands against a curtain of yellow, and the pond below stretches toward the viewer in broken horizontal strokes of green, yellow, white, and pale blue, dotted with lavender-pink water lilies and dark reflections. A clump of tall reeds rises at the right edge, and a fringe of grass lines the lower border. The warm yellow-green palette, the dappled handling, and the focus on light and reflection across water recall the visual language of Impressionist garden painting.
