The paper sheet shows a warm, light-toned margin around the painted field, with mild toning consistent with age. No significant tears, losses, or creases are apparent in the available images. Minor surface irregularities, light handling marks, and age-related wear may be present. Presented in a gold-toned frame with a mottled, distressed finish and a twisted rope-pattern inner molding, showing minor surface wear. Not examined out of the frame. Provenance: Private Colelction Visual Description: A frontal head-and-shoulders portrait of a long-eared hound, centered against a flat field of brushed turquoise and cerulean that stops short of the sheet's edges, leaving a narrow border of bare paper. The dog's head and neck are built from loose, overlapping washes of violet, plum, lavender, and hot pink, with touches of ochre and golden tan along the muzzle and chest. Its broad, drooping ears fill the width of the composition, their rounded forms glowing pink and mauve and edged in a heavy band of mustard yellow. Over the soft color, a looping contour line traces the head in a single continuous gesture, rising around each eye and descending along the nose to a pale pink snout with dark nostrils. The eyes are rendered with simple concentric rings, giving the animal a direct, slightly wistful gaze. A streak of white and magenta runs down the chest, adding a vertical accent that anchors the figure. The independence of the drawn outline from the colored areas beneath it, the saturated, non-naturalistic palette, and the flat background recall the graphic vocabulary of Pop Art portraiture, here translated into a looser, hand-painted idiom.
