Exact Weight Scale Co. Limited Type 103 industrial countertop balance scale, manufactured in Toronto, Canada. The unit is constructed with a heavy cast metal body in a grey industrial finish, featuring a large galvanised metal scoop-style weighing pan and a circular flat weighing platform. The vertical housing contains a mechanical indicator window marked EXACT WEIGHT with OVER and UNDER graduations. A graduated steel beam to the front is equipped with a sliding chrome-plated poise weight, calibrated in 0.05 lb increments. The identification plate is marked with the maker's details, model number 103, and a 5 LB CAPY. It also bears a trade verification mark with a crown above ER, number 1011, and number 6. A yellow maintenance label from Every Scale Ltd. is present with handwritten service dates from 1988 and 1989. Dimensions (measured against a ruler in inches): Height approx. 39.5 cm; Pan width approx. 30.5 cm. Condition: Good vintage condition. There is visible surface oxidation and pitting to the metal body and pans consistent with age and industrial application. The indicator window is clouded but legible. The mechanical components, including the sliding poise and needle, appear functional.
