Chinese Celadon-Style Double-Gourd Vase with Gilt Calligraphy. Dimensions: 7.25 inches H × 3.75 inches diameter. Chinese ceramic double-gourd-form vase covered in a muted blue-gray celadon-style glaze with fine overall crackling. The traditional double-gourd form features a broad lower bulb rising through a molded waist to a smaller upper bulb and narrow neck. The slightly faceted mouth is accented with a gilt rim. The lower body is decorated with incised Chinese calligraphy and seal-form characters highlighted in gilt and iron-red tones, creating an attractive contrast against the restrained blue-gray glaze. The inscription appears decorative and literary in character rather than a conventional reign mark. The combination of archaistic form, crackled celadon-style glaze, calligraphic decoration, and deliberately aged surface suggests a 20th-century Chinese decorative or scholar-style ceramic, likely mid- to late 20th century. I would not attribute it to an earlier dynasty without additional provenance or specialist examination. Condition: Overall good condition with surface wear, rubbing and losses to the gilt decoration, particularly around the mouth rim and portions of the inscription. Fine crackling/crazing throughout the glaze, with scattered discoloration, marks, and glaze irregularities. Wear is visible to the underside and foot. Please view all photos for condition.
