A decorative pair of Chinese ceramic vases finished in a subdued gray-green celadon-style glaze with an intentionally developed overall crackle pattern. The pair features contrasting forms while sharing a complementary glaze and aesthetic. Dimensions: Left: 9 inches H × 3.25 inches W × 3.25 inches D. Right: 8.75 inches H × 3.5 inches diameter. The taller rectangular vase is modeled with a cylindrical mouth and foot and a distinctive architectural body featuring deeply molded vertical ribs with repeated stepped geometric decoration along the sides. The companion vase has a cylindrical body rising through rounded shoulders to a long, narrow neck terminating in a broad, flattened dish-form mouth. Both exhibit unglazed brown pottery at the foot rims. The gray-green crackled glaze is inspired by traditional Chinese Guan- and Ge-type celadon wares, although these examples appear to be later decorative interpretations rather than early period ceramics. Based on the forms, construction, glaze, and foot treatment visible in the photographs, I would conservatively describe them as 20th-century Chinese decorative ceramics, possibly mid- to late 20th century. No reign marks or maker's marks are visible. Condition: Overall good decorative condition with age-appropriate surface wear. Extensive crackling/crazing is present throughout the glaze and appears integral to the decorative finish. Minor glaze irregularities and surface imperfections may be present. Please view all photos for condition. This auction house considers the photos as the condition report.
