An RCBS full length die set for 8mm Remington Magnum, part number 16001, Group A, calling for shell holder number 4, in the green RCBS box. An old Carls Gun Shop price tag of $25.95 is still on the lid. The set holds the full length sizing die with its decapping rod and expander ball and the bullet seating die. The 8mm Remington Magnum was introduced in 1978 on a full length belted magnum case and it hits hard, which is why it found a following among hunters headed for moose, elk and big bear. It was never a high volume seller, so dies and brass for it are far less common than 30 caliber magnum gear and that scarcity puts a premium on a complete set like this one. Condition is good. The steel shows light staining and discoloration on the threads and lock rings with no deep pitting and the adjustments move freely. The green box is worn with a torn and stained label. Estimated Value: $35 to $60 based on comparable recent sales. Sold as-is. Photos are the most accurate description of this lot. Written descriptions are a guide only and may contain errors.
