Lyman 357 Magnum 3 Die Pistol Set in Box

A Lyman All American three die pistol set for 357 Magnum, part number 7462309, in the orange Lyman box. The end label reads 3 DIE PISTOL 357 MAG and carries a shop marking of USED $13.00. Three dies are present, a sizing die, an expanding die and a bullet seating die. This is the standard revolver setup. The sizer squeezes the straight wall case back to size and pushes the spent primer out, the expander opens the mouth so a cast or jacketed bullet starts straight without shaving, and the seater sets bullet depth and rolls a crimp into the cannelure so bullets do not creep forward under magnum recoil in a revolver cylinder. These are steel dies rather than carbide, so cases should be lubed before sizing. Condition is good. The steel is bright with light staining and handling marks, the threads are clean and the adjustments move freely. The orange box is worn with a stained and rubbed label and soft corners.
