Lyman 38 Special 357 Magnum Carbide Sizer Die

A Lyman All American carbide sizing die for 38 Special and 357 Magnum, part number 7590179, in the orange Lyman box marked CARBIDE SIZER and DELUXE SIZING DIE 357 38. The die is still in its factory paper wrap and comes with a lock ring, a small Allen wrench and a sealed bag of hardware. The tungsten carbide ring pressed into the mouth of this die is what a revolver loader wants. Carbide is hard enough and slick enough that straight wall brass sizes with no case lube, so there is no greasy step before loading and none after. That matters when a shooter runs several hundred 38 Special cases at a sitting. The die sizes the body and the neck in one stroke and decaps at the same time. Because 38 Special and 357 Magnum share the same case diameter, one die covers both, which is why so many revolver shooters own it. Condition is very good to excellent with bright unused looking steel under the factory wrap and clean threads. The orange box is worn and faded with a taped price label and soft corners.
