One Lee Precision Factory Crimp Die for 243 Winchester, part number 90819, in the original red box with the factory instruction sheet. This is the collet style rifle crimp die. Four hardened steel fingers squeeze the case mouth inward from the outside and press a firm crimp into the jacket of the bullet, and because the fingers work from the outside the crimp comes out the same even when case lengths vary a little. That is the practical advantage over a roll crimp built into a seating die, which depends on every case being trimmed to the same length. Handloaders use a factory crimp on 243 Winchester to hold light varmint bullets in place in a magazine and to tighten up velocity spread. The die works in any standard press. Condition is excellent. The steel is bright with a few light storage spots on the body, the threads are clean and the crimp collet moves freely. The red box and instruction sheet are intact with light shelf wear. Estimated Value: $15 to $25 based on comparable recent sales. Sold as-is. Photos are the most accurate description of this lot. Written descriptions are a guide only and may contain errors.
