RCBS 380 Auto Taper Crimp Seater Die 20462

One RCBS taper crimp seating die for 380 Auto, part number 20462, Group B, calling for shell holder number 10. The die body is stamped RCBS 380 AUTO T slash C. It comes in the green RCBS box with the printed instruction sheet. A taper crimp die is the correct tool for a rimless pistol cartridge that headspaces on the case mouth. Unlike a roll crimp, which curls the mouth into the bullet and would ruin headspace in a 380 Auto or a 9mm, a taper crimp simply squeezes the last bit of case flare back against the bullet so the round chambers and feeds. Set it right and semi auto rounds drop into the barrel and stop on the mouth exactly where they should. This die seats and crimps in one stroke. Condition is excellent. The steel is bright with clean threads and no rust or pitting, the seater plug turns freely and the green box and paperwork show only light shelf wear.
