A collection of two vintage jewelry boxes of rectangular form. The first box features a metallic gold-toned textured exterior and a circular silver-toned push-button latch. The interior is lined with light peach-colored satin and includes a gathered pocket in the lid and two divided compartments in the base. It contains paper ephemera for Buxton, (Canada) Ltd. of Toronto, Canada. The second, larger box features a dark teal textured exterior decorated with two parallel rows of gold-toned dotting and a central brass-toned locking latch. The interior is designed with a multi-tiered mechanism that lifts a velvet-lined tray with ring rolls upon opening, revealing an inset mirror in the lid and additional open storage below, all lined in pink fabric. Teal box dimensions (measured against a ruler): W approx. 23.2 cm x H approx. 8.3 cm Gold box dimensions (measured against a ruler): W approx. 21.0 cm x H approx. 5.0 cm. Condition: Both boxes exhibit signs of age and use. The gold-toned box shows minor surface scuffing and light staining to the interior satin lining. The teal box displays wear to the exterior edges, surface oxidation on the metal latch, and staining to the interior pink fabric and velvet linings.
