An assortment of vintage postcards and photographs featuring a variety of topographical views and subject studies. The collection includes various photographic and printing processes such as silver gelatin real photo postcards, chromolithography, and halftone colour lithography. Geographically diverse subject matter includes United Kingdom landmarks such as the tomb of Mary Queen of Scots at Westminster Abbey and Cheney Court in Winchester. European locations include Mouscron in Belgium, the Bourse in Marseille, France, and the house of Christopher Columbus in Genoa, Italy. Caribbean and Atlantic views feature the Castle Harbour Hotel and Bougainvillea in Bermuda, the Sponge Market in Nassau, Bahamas, and botanical studies of cocoa and banana plants in Jamaica. Also included is a black and white silver gelatin photograph of dogs and a card titled Floating Pyramids at Battle Harbour. Visible markings include printed titles on the face of most cards and a printed credit for Published by SANDS STUDIO and No. 26 on one verso. Dimensions: standard postcards approx. 14 cm x 9 cm. Condition: The collection exhibits typical signs of age and handling including corner bumping, edge wear, and scattered foxing. A horizontal crease is present across the centre of the Floating Pyramids postcard. Some cards show light surface soiling and minor creasing consistent with vintage ephemera.
