This assortment of vintage postcards from the early to mid-20th century represents a variety of landscape, architectural, and botanical subjects. Topographical views include the "Coast Near Carmel, Calif.," "Arches at Capistrano," and a view of the Christopher Columbus monument in Genoa, Italy. National Park and wildlife interest is represented by a study of "Twin Cub Bears" in Yellowstone National Park, providing a photographic credit for Haynes. Botanical cards include illustrations of a Saguaro cactus, Yucca in blossom, a "Grove of Big Trees," and a fruiting paw-paw tree from Jamaica. The collection utilizes various printing methods of the period, including colorized photographic prints and lithographic reproductions of artwork. Characteristics include light corner rubbing, minor edge bumping, and uniform toning to the card stock.
