An assortment of religious texts and hymnals produced by various publishers. The group includes Prayers for the Use of Families; or, The Domestic Minister's Assistant by William Jay, published by Leavitt & Allen, New York, featuring an embossed dark cloth binding with decorative spine lettering. A miniature Ruby 48mo edition of The Book of Common Prayer is present, printed by G. E. Eyre and W. Spottiswoode, bound in black pebbled leather. The collection also contains an edition of The Book of Mormon in brown textured cloth with a gilt-stamped figure of the Angel Moroni on the upper board. Additional volumes include a red softcover hymnal titled Redemption Songs: 1000 Hymns and Choruses, a small black leather volume titled The Book of Praise with gilt edges, and a tan cloth-bound volume embossed St Matthew. A larger black cloth volume displays red-stained edges. Dimensions: Total width approx. 33 cm. Individual heights range from approx. 8 cm to approx. 23 cm. Condition: The volumes exhibit varying degrees of wear consistent with age and use. Condition issues include rubbing and scuffing to bindings, frayed cloth edges, and bumped corners. Internal pages show instances of foxing and toning. Significant structural wear is visible on the larger black cloth volume, including a partially detached spine and exposed stitching. The red softcover hymnal is heavily distressed with frayed edges and tears to the paper covers.
