An assortment of black and white large format film negatives featuring varied subject matter. Key images in the collection include a formal portrait of a person in academic or clerical robes, a horse-drawn buggy with a driver, and outdoor scenic views depicting individuals in a rowboat on a body of water. The collection is accompanied by a vintage brown paper window envelope from the Bank of Canada Public Debt Division in Ottawa, Ontario, which bears a red postmark dated May 30, 1963. The negatives are likely generated via the gelatin silver process on a flexible film base, representative of personal photography from the first half of the 20th century. Condition: The negatives are in fair to good vintage condition with age-appropriate wear. Visible silver mirroring is present, particularly around the edges and in dense areas of the film emulsion. The surfaces show light scratches, dust accumulation, and fingerprints. Some examples exhibit minor chemical staining or foxing.
