Souvenir Real Photograph Packs

This lot comprises two sets of vintage souvenir photographs from the Valentine's Snapshots series, produced by Valentine and Sons Ltd. The collection includes one set centered on Loch Lomond, Scotland, and another on Giant's Causeway, Northern Ireland. Each original card slipcase box was printed in Great Britain and indicates a contents of twelve real photographs, originally priced at one shilling (1/-). The Loch Lomond set features views of the lake, surrounding mountains, and a steamship, with one photograph bearing a pencil inscription on the reverse reading Steamer passing Rob Roy's Cave, Loch Lomond. The Giant's Causeway set includes images of the basalt formations, coastal scenery, a local figure with walking sticks, and a stone feature identified by a handwritten pencil note on the reverse as Wishing Well, Giant's Causeway. The images are sepia-toned real photographic prints on paper. Dimensions: photographs approx. W 7.5 cm x H 5.5 cm; boxes approx. W 8.5 cm x H 8.5 cm (measured against a ruler). Condition: The original card slipcase boxes exhibit typical signs of age-related wear, including rubbing to the edges, minor corner bumping, and light surface soiling. The photographs are in good vintage condition, displaying expected minor paper toning and yellowing. The handwritten pencil inscriptions on the reverse of two photographs remain clear and legible.
