This lot consists of two complete souvenir photograph sets published by Valentine and Sons, titled Irish Life and Land of Scott. Each set contains 12 vintage silver gelatin prints on light cardstock. The Irish Life collection depicts traditional rural scenes, including horse-drawn carts, thatched-roof cottages, and peat harvesting, with handwritten titles on the reverse such as Irish Turf Carriers. The Land of Scott set features landmarks and ruins associated with Sir Walter Scott, including Melrose Bridge, the library at Abbotsford, and various abbeys, with one verso marked Abbotsford and Eildon Hills. Both sets are housed in their original printed paper envelopes, which are marked VALENTINE'S SNAPSHOTS, 12 REAL PHOTOGRAPHS FOR YOUR ALBUM 1/-, and PRINTED IN GT. BRITAIN. Print size approx. 9 cm x 6 cm Envelope size approx. 10.5 cm x 8 cm Measured from visible ruler. Condition: The photographs are in good vintage condition with typical minor curling and age-related toning, particularly on the versos. The original envelopes exhibit shelf wear, light foxing, and minor corner bumping.
