This collection contains two distinct boxed sets of vintage souvenir photographic prints. The first set is titled Valentines Snapshots, published by James Valentine and Sons and printed in Great Britain. The original tan cardboard box is labeled as containing 12 real photographs intended for an album, with the title Holyrood Palace. The included black and white prints depict various historical sites and cityscapes in Edinburgh, Scotland, including Edinburgh Castle with the Ross Fountain, the Forth Bridge, the Scott Monument, and views of Princes Street featuring early 20th-century vehicles and trams. One print bears a handwritten pencil inscription on the reverse. The second set is titled 21 Florentine Galleries - Pitti - Uffizi, published by Stabilimenti Alterocca in Terni, Italy. This set, housed in a green card box, comprises black and white photographic reproductions of Renaissance and Baroque masterpieces held in the Pitti Palace and Uffizi Gallery in Florence. Visible subjects include Raphael's La Velata, which has identifying text printed in Italian and English on the reverse, as well as works by Botticelli and Filippo Lippi. Dimensions measured against a ruler: Individual prints approx. W 8.9 cm (3.5 in). Condition: Both original cardboard boxes exhibit signs of age and handling, including softened corners, minor abrasions, and surface staining. The Valentine box has a small tear along one edge. The photographic prints are in good vintage condition with clear imagery, though some cards show minor yellowing and light foxing consistent with age. One print has a graphite inscription on the reverse.
