This Royal Doulton relief-molded earthenware character plate, titled The Balloon Man, features pattern number D6655. The central high-relief figure depicts a man seated on a wooden crate holding a cluster of multi-colored balloons. Behind him is a detailed London street scene including St. Paul's Cathedral, a vintage double-decker bus, an early motor car, and pedestrians. The plate is finished in hand-painted polychrome glazes. The reverse bears the printed Royal Doulton backstamp with a lion atop a crown, the pattern name, and number. It also includes a printed description stating the piece was modeled by William K. Harper after a design by Leslie Harradine, with a copyright date of 1980. The item includes its original cardboard presentation box. Diameter approx. 26 cm (measured against a ruler). Condition: The plate is in excellent condition with no visible chips, cracks, or repairs. The glazes remain bright and clear. The original box exhibits minor surface wear and light soiling.
