A Royal Doulton fine bone china commemorative plate produced to celebrate the marriage of H.R.H. The Prince of Wales and Lady Diana Spencer on July 29, 1981. The circular plate features a central sepia-toned transfer-printed double portrait of the couple, encircled by commemorative text and the wedding date. The outer border is decorated with a series of vignettes within an elaborate scrollwork pattern, depicting the Prince of Wales feathers, pink roses, yellow daffodils, oak leaves with acorns, and wedding bells. The plate is finished with a gilded rim. The base of the plate bears the printed Royal Doulton logo with a lion passant atop a crown, along with the inscription: To Celebrate the Marriage of THE PRINCE OF WALES and LADY DIANA SPENCER July 29th 1981 St. Paul's Cathedral, A Limited Edition of 5000, No 4220. The item is accompanied by its original blue satin-lined presentation box, which features a gold-stamped Royal Warrant and brand name on the interior lid, and includes the original informational card. Diameter approx. 27 cm (measured against a ruler). Condition: The plate is in excellent condition with no visible chips, cracks, or repairs. The gilded rim remains bright and intact. The presentation box shows minor signs of shelf wear.
