Panasonic model R-1159 portable AM transistor radio, manufactured by Matsushita Electric Industrial Co., Ltd. in Japan. The unit features a black textured plastic housing with an analog circular tuning dial for the AM band, calibrated from 5.3 to 16. A top-mounted thumbwheel controls volume and power. The radio is equipped with an internal speaker, a side earphone jack, and an integrated black fabric carrying strap. The front speaker grille bears a small square logo with a stylized N and the Panasonic name. The rear casing contains molded manufacturer information and battery requirements for one 9-volt battery. This item includes its original retail box featuring period graphic illustrations of cosmetics and jewelry. Dimensions (measured against a ruler): Length approx. 12 cm. Condition: The radio is in vintage, pre-owned condition with visible surface dust and light scuffs. The original cardboard box shows significant shelf wear, including creases, edge rubbing, and minor corner tearing. The unit is untested.
