A vintage silent butler crumb sweeper set comprising a rectangular metal box with a hinged lid and an integrated curved handle. The exterior is finished in blue paint with three vertical embossed ribs and a central floral transfer decal depicting pansies. The interior contains two nested cream-coloured trays, likely manufactured from celluloid or a similar early plastic, which are moulded with a foliate scroll motif along the upper edges. The box is constructed with a hinged mechanism at the rear and a thumb-piece handle for ease of operation. Dimensions: Width approx. 21.5 cm x Depth approx. 16.0 cm. Condition: The metal casing exhibits significant wear consistent with age and use, including widespread paint chipping, scratches, and spots of surface oxidation, particularly concentrated along the edges, corners, and hinge. The internal trays show minor surface marks and general age-related yellowing. The hinge mechanism remains functional.
