Vintage Nickel Plate Road railroad padlock manufactured by The Yale & Towne Manufacturing Company. Heavy brass construction with a raised Yale emblem, swinging keyhole cover, and key. Face is hand stamped "N.K.P. Co." for the Nickel Plate Road. Lock has been tested and works. Measures approximately 3 1/2 inches high × 2 1/2 inches wide. Circa 1930s–1964, prior to the Nickel Plate Road’s merger into Norfolk & Western. Displays scratches, discoloration, oxidation, and wear appropriate for age and railroad service.
