Antique Norfolk & Western Railway Company brass pancake-style railroad lock, clearly stamped "N&W RY CO." Includes an attached heavy link chain and a hollow barrel key marked Eagle Lock Co., Terryville, Connecticut. Lock has been tested and works. Measures approximately 4 inches high × 2 1/2 inches wide. This style was used by Norfolk & Western from the late 1800s through approximately the 1930s. Displays a rich aged patina, scratches, oxidation, and wear appropriate for age and railroad service. The key is period appropriate and functional, but its originality to this particular lock has not been verified.
