Vintage Southern Railway Company railroad utility padlock manufactured by Yale. Heavy brass body with steel shackle, attached chain, swinging keyhole cover, and two keys. Face is clearly marked "SOU RY CO" around the raised Yale emblem. Lock has been tested and works. Measures approximately 4 inches high × 2 1/2 inches wide. Circa 1940s–1960s. Displays scratches, oxidation, patina, and wear appropriate for age and railroad service. The originality of the keys and chain has not been verified.
