Antique Southern Railway heavy-duty railroad switch or utility padlock manufactured by Yale. Features a substantial brass body, steel shackle, hinged keyhole cover, raised Yale medallion, and hand-stamped SOU. RY. railroad marking. An additional letter C is stamped beside the railroad initials. Includes the pictured Yale-marked key. The lock has been tested and works properly. Dating to the early to mid-20th century, circa 1920s–1940s. Measures approximately 5 inches high x 2.5 inches wide. Displays scratches, darkening and oxidation on the shackle, aged brass patina, and wear appropriate for railroad use and age.
