Vintage English solid-brass JARED Old English No. 4 Admiralty padlock manufactured by Jas. Morgan & Sons Ltd., Justin Square, London, marked "Locksmiths by Appointment." The reverse bears the British Admiralty broad-arrow marking and is stamped "Four Brass Levers" and "Genuine Solid Brass." Includes one key and has been tested; the lock opens and closes properly. Measures approximately 2.75 inches high x 2.75 inches wide. Estimated circa 1930s-1960s and possibly WWII-era, although the exact production date has not been verified. This piece came from the railroad collection of Mr. Percy Hill of Magnolia, Mississippi. Brass displays scratches, tarnish, patina and wear appropriate for age.
