Research indicates this is an M7-pattern military bayonet designed for the M16 rifle family, accompanied by an M8A1-style scabbard and web frog. * Approximately 12 inches overall in scabbard * Approximately 6.75-inch spear-point blade * Fullered steel blade with faint ricasso marking * Black diamond-checkered synthetic grips * Muzzle-ring crossguard * Two-lever pommel locking mechanism * Olive-drab composition scabbard * Tan web frog with retaining strap * Vietnam War to later Cold War-era pattern Used condition with blade scratches, sharpening marks, finish wear, oxidation, grip wear, and surface loss appropriate for age. The grip fasteners display rust. Scabbard and web frog show scratches, staining, fading, fraying, and general handling wear. The scabbard appears to have been repainted.
