U.S. M7 Bayonet with WD M8A1 Scabbard

Vietnam War-era U.S. M7-style bayonet with black checkered grips, spear-point blade, muzzle ring and functioning pommel release. Includes olive-drab U.S. M8A1 scabbard with canvas belt hanger, retaining strap, wire attachment hook and leg tie. Scabbard throat is marked "U.S. M8A1 / WD," identifying Wilson-Duggar Co., a U.S. military contractor that produced these scabbards during the mid-1960s. Measures approximately 13 inches overall in the scabbard. Blade shows sharpening, finish loss, scratches and handling wear. Scabbard and canvas hanger show age-related wear, discoloration and surface oxidation to the hardware. No visible maker marking was located on the bayonet itself.
