Original Argentine Model 1909 sword bayonet manufactured in Germany by Weyersberg, Kirschbaum & Co., Solingen. Blade is marked "Modelo Argentino 1909" with the Argentine national crest and serial number A6386. Reverse is marked “Weyersberg Kirschbaum & Co. Solingen.” Features a long fullered blade, hooked quillon, muzzle ring, wooden grip panels and steel bird’s-head pommel. Includes steel scabbard with brown leather military hanger and adjustable straps. The Argentine crest remains visible and has not been ground away, as frequently encountered on surplus examples. Measures approximately 23 inches overall in the scabbard. Manufactured circa 1909-1912, prior to World War I. Blade and metal components show scratches, staining, scattered oxidation and evidence of cleaning or polishing. Scabbard has dents and surface wear. Wooden grips and leather hanger show wear appropriate for age, including scratches, discoloration and dryness. Examine photographs closely for condition and markings.
