Japanese Type 30 sword bayonet manufactured for use with the Imperial Japanese Army’s Arisaka rifles. Ricasso bears the four-cannonball Kokura Army Arsenal symbol and arrow-through-M mark associated with Matsushita Kinzoku, the company that later became Panasonic. Features a fullered blade, straight crossguard with muzzle ring, wooden grip panels and bird’s-head pommel with release button. Includes its fitted steel scabbard. This straight-crossguard Matsushita variation is generally associated with mid-WWII production, circa 1940s. Measures approximately 21 inches overall in the scabbard. Blade, guard and scabbard exhibit extensive finish loss, oxidation, pitting, scratches and age-related wear. Steel scabbard has dents and surface corrosion. Wooden grips show considerable scratches, staining and wear. Pommel release has not been tested. Please examine all photographs closely for markings and condition.
