Vintage unmarked fighting or utility knife constructed in the general WWII U.S. Navy Mark 2 and USMC fighting-knife pattern. It features a fullered clip-point blade, stacked-leather washer handle, steel guard and round metal pommel. No readable maker, military branch or model markings were found on the blade, guard or pommel. Includes a heavily worn, unmarked brown leather sheath with stitching, rivets and a retaining strap. Faded handwritten numbers or identification are visible on the reverse. The sheath may be a field-made or replacement example; its exact age is unknown. Measures approximately 13 inches overall in the sheath. Condition includes blade scratches, sharpening, oxidation and finish loss. The stacked-leather handle is dry, worn and separated between several washers, with areas of green verdigris. The sheath has heavy scuffing, scratches, discoloration, verdigris, worn stitching and general deterioration. This item came from a collector’s estate.
