Autographed Don Drysdale MLB Baseball Hall Of Fame Induction 8X10 Stat Sheet. An especially appealing piece commemorating the very day the legendary Dodgers pitcher received baseball's highest honor. The display features a classic black and white image of Drysdale in his Los Angeles Dodgers uniform alongside his career statistics and is prominently titled "Hall of Fame Induction Day, August 12, 1984, Cooperstown, New York." Drysdale has boldly signed the piece in blue ink beneath his photograph, creating a particularly meaningful autograph directly connected to his induction into the National Baseball Hall of Fame. Nicknamed "Big D," Drysdale spent his entire 14 season Major League career with the Dodgers organization, beginning with Brooklyn in 1956 and moving with the franchise to Los Angeles, where he became one of the dominant pitchers of his generation. The imposing right hander finished his career with 209 victories, 2,486 strikeouts, 167 complete games, 49 shutouts and a 2.95 ERA, captured the 1962 National League Cy Young Award, earned eight All Star selections and helped the Dodgers win three World Series championships. In 1968, Drysdale authored one of baseball's great pitching accomplishments by throwing 58 consecutive scoreless innings, a Major League record that stood for two decades. His career was immortalized with his election to Cooperstown in 1984, making this induction themed piece considerably more evocative than a conventional signed photograph or stat sheet. Drysdale passed away unexpectedly in 1993 at just 56 years old, permanently limiting the supply of authentic material signed during his lifetime. Combining a bold Don Drysdale autograph, Hall of Fame induction imagery, detailed career statistics and a direct commemoration of his August 12, 1984 induction in Cooperstown, this impressive piece represents a tremendous addition to any Don Drysdale, Brooklyn or Los Angeles Dodgers, Hall of Fame or advanced baseball autograph collection.
