Southern folk art face jug by South Carolina potter Marvin Bailey. The jug features a warm tan-brown glaze with vertical drip lines across the body. The face has deeply sculpted features, a sharp flared nose, prominent cheekbones, heavy brows, and narrow white clay eyes with blue irises. A wide grin filled with pointed individual teeth gives the piece a playful, slightly sinister expression.
