A 90 percent silver Washington quarter from the Denver Mint, the D clear on the reverse below the wreath between QUARTER and DOLLAR. The coin is circulated. The cheek and the hair above the ear are smoothed, with the neck curls partly present, and the reverse eagle has a flat breast with soft wing feathers. Even medium grey with slightly darker toning in the recesses and a faint golden tint at the rims. Rims are complete, with no dings, no corrosion and no signs of cleaning. The coin holds 0.1808 troy ounces of pure silver, roughly $11.95 at recent prices near $66 per ounce, and metal moves, so check spot before you bid. Something collectors notice on early 1950s quarters: Denver regularly out-produced Philadelphia in these years, so grade rather than mint mark is usually what separates one from another. Estimated Value: $12 to $16. Sold as-is. Photos are the most accurate description of this lot. Written descriptions are a guide only and may contain errors. Please review all photos before bidding.
