1776-1976 D Bicentennial Quarter Roll $10

A sealed, factory crimped roll of clad Washington quarters in an orange wrapper printed $10 QUARTERS, forty coins if full. With the crimps intact, only the two end coins can be checked and the coins inside were never photographed. The obverse end reads 1776-1976 with a legible D right of the hair ribbon, full detail and no high point wear, though the fields are flat medium gray with fine hairlines left of the portrait. The reverse end coin is noticeably dark, a deep gray-brown running toward near black across the drummer and fields. Detail is full underneath and no green material is present, so this reads as heavy toning rather than confirmed corrosion. A stamp on one crimped end is not legible. The reverse deserves a word: the drummer boy was drawn by Jack L. Ahr, one of twelve winners of a national Bicentennial design contest, and his initials sit at the drum. The coins are clad with no silver whatever, and with more than 1.6 billion struck a circulated roll is a face value item. Estimated Value: $9 to $13. Sold as-is.
