1926-1958 Lincoln Wheat Cents (7)

Seven Lincoln cents, all with the wheat ears reverse used from 1909 to 1958. Bronze, no silver. The dates read 1926, 1946, 1946, 1949, 1952, 1957 and 1958. Mint marks sit below the date: a D on the 1949, 1952 and 1957, an S on one 1946, and a clean empty spot on the other, a Philadelphia coin. The 1958 shows only in a group photo, so its mint mark is unresolved and none is claimed. The 1926 date is under crust in its close-up and was read from the group shots, where the first three digits are clear and the last best matches a 6, so treat it as probable, not proven. Defects: the 1926 has bright green verdigris over dark brown on both faces, pitted fields and the wheat ears mostly obscured; it is actively corroding. The 1949-D has a deep gouge through the shoulder, the 1946-S a rim nick near 2 o'clock, and the 1952-D a dark smear across the face. The 1957-D is cleanest, chocolate brown and sharp. 1958 was the last wheat year; the Memorial reverse came in 1959 for Lincoln's 150th birthday. Estimated Value: $2 to $6. Sold as-is.
