The headline here is a 1963-D Washington quarter, 90 percent silver. It holds about $11.95 in metal at recent prices near $66 per ounce, and metal moves, so check spot before you bid. The D mint mark is clear below the wreath bow on the reverse, and the coin shows only light wear with good detail under soft golden-tan toning. It is the nicest piece here. The other four are clad and hold no silver at all: two 1965s, a 1967, and a 1969 whose obverse mint mark spot is clean and empty, a Philadelphia coin. Both 1965s are rough. One is heavily worn, hair and cheek flattened into the field, with fine scratches. The other is also scratched and carries a distinct green deposit along the upper right rim running into the field, plus a smaller green area at the edge. That material is foreign to the coin and sits where it can hide detail. The 1967 and 1969 show moderate to light wear with warm golden toning. Silver left the quarter in 1965, and coins dated 1965 to 1967 carry no mint mark at all. Estimated Value: $13 to $18. Sold as-is. Photos are the most accurate description of this lot.
