Sterling and Faux-Tortoiseshell Hair Comb

A dressing table hair comb featuring a sterling silver spine mount on a faux tortoiseshell body. The comb is a dual-toothed design, incorporating both coarse and fine teeth sections. The silver mount is decorated with engine-turned linear patterning and a central vacant rectangular cartouche. The interior of the silver spine is stamped with the marks BIRKS and STERLING. A hand-scratched numeric inscription below the stamp appears to read 140714-78. Weight: 47 g (gross) Width: approx. 4.1 cm. Condition: Fair vintage condition. There is one missing tooth in the fine-tooth section. The sterling silver spine shows significant surface tarnish and light scratching. Minor wear and residue are present on the tips of the teeth.
