A small oval sterling silver tray of shallow form featuring a broad, flat rim. The interior is decorated with fine engine-turned horizontal lines surrounding a central engraved vacant shield cartouche. This cartouche is flanked by stylised floral and foliate sprigs. The tray originates from the USA. The underside is stamped with the marks STERLING, 925, a capital letter R, and a lion passant mark (unconfirmed maker, recheck). Length: approx. 22.2 cm (measured against a ruler in inches) Width: approx. 5.7 cm (measured against a ruler in inches) Weight: 51 g. Condition: The tray is in good condition with minor surface scratches, small nicks, and tarnish consistent with age and domestic use. The engine-turned and engraved decoration remains clear and well-defined.
