Two vintage nail files featuring sterling silver handles by the Canadian maker Henry Birks & Sons. Both handles are decorated with engine-turned vertical line engraving. One handle is of a tapered form with an embossed floral and shield motif. The second handle has a bulbous shape and features a vacant rectangular cartouche suitable for engraving. The blades are made of steel. One handle is stamped BIRKS STERLING. The second handle is stamped STERLING above 925 R and a lion rampant house mark. Gross weight: 58g (measured on a digital scale) Length: approx. 19.7 cm (measured against a tape measure). Condition: Both handles show minor surface scratches and light indentations consistent with age and use. One handle exhibits a heavy dark patina and tarnish. The steel blades show surface oxidation and wear from use.
