A sterling silver hand mirror of American origin. The reverse of the mirror is decorated with a vertical engine-turned linear pattern, featuring a central shield-shaped vacant cartouche surmounted by a fleur-de-lis motif and finished with a floral spray at the base. The handle is tapered and undecorated. The bevelled mirror plate is set within a silver frame. The neck is stamped with the markings STERLING, 925, the letter R, and a symbol of a lion passant facing right; maker's mark unconfirmed, flag for recheck. Gross weight: 344 g, APPROX. 250~280 GRAMS SILVER Dimensions read from a tape measure: Length approx. 31.8 cm, Width approx. 14 cm. Condition: The silver casing shows moderate tarnishing and fine surface scratches consistent with age and regular use. The mirror plate is intact but exhibits minor signs of desilvering with dark spotting visible around the perimeter.
