A mid-20th-century sterling silver-mounted handheld hairbrush by Birks. The silver back is decorated with a fine engine-turned pinstripe pattern, centred by a vacant rectangular cartouche. The tapered handle is joined to the brush head by a triple-banded collar. The cream-coloured brush head is set with natural bristles. The neck of the silver mount is stamped BIRKS and STERLING. Length approx. 25.4 cm (measured against a tape measure) Width approx. 7 cm (measured against a tape measure) Weight: 136 g (gross weight). APPROX. 80~100 GRAMS STERLING Condition: The silver mount exhibits heavy tarnish throughout, alongside surface pitting and light scratching consistent with age and use. The bristles are intact but show signs of previous utility and discolouration. The cartouche remains unengraved.
