A dressing table or vanity jar of squat, bulbous form. The sterling silver lid features a vertical engine-turned linear pattern with a central vacant oval cartouche surrounded by a laurel leaf wreath and a decorative bow at the base. The heavy lead crystal body is ornately cut with a traditional pattern including large hobstars, fanned motifs, and panels of diamond-point cross-hatching. The underside of the base is deeply cut with a multi-point star. The rim of the silver lid is stamped with British hallmarks including a lion passant, an anchor for the Birmingham assay office, a date letter, and a maker mark (recheck). Silver lid weight: 45 g Height: approx. 10.8 cm (measured against a ruler) Lid diameter: approx. 9.5 cm (measured against a ruler). Condition: The glass is clear and bright with no visible chips or cracks. The silver lid shows light surface wear and minor tarnishing consistent with age.
