A sterling silver vanity hand mirror manufactured by the Canadian firm Birks. The mirror features a shield-shaped head housing a bevelled mirror plate. The reverse is decorated with engine-turned pinstripe patterns surrounding a central rectangular vacant cartouche. It is finished with a long, tapered handle featuring a ribbed collar at the junction. Stamped BIRKS STERLING to the base of the frame. Gross weight: 387g, APPROX. 230 - 280 GRAMS OF STERLING Dimensions (measured against a ruler, inches shown): approx. Length 31.8 cm x Width 12.7 cm. Condition: The sterling silver shows significant tarnish and patina throughout, with some light surface scratches consistent with age and handling. The mirror plate exhibits heavy foxing and deterioration of the silvering, particularly at the upper right corner and along the lower edges.
