A sterling silver hand mirror featuring a shield-shaped head and a long, tapering handle terminating in a pointed finial. The reverse is decorated with an engine-turned pinstripe pattern and incorporates a central rectangular vacant cartouche. The mirror is fitted with a bevelled glass plate. The handle neck is stamped with the marks BIRKS and STERLING (maker mark unconfirmed, recheck). Weight: 415 g (gross, as weighed on a scale) approx. 250~280 grams sterling Dimensions: Length approx. 32 cm; Width approx. 12.1 cm (measured against a ruler). Condition: The mirror is in fair to good antique condition. There is notable tarnish to the silver, particularly on the handle and around the bezel. The mirror glass exhibits age-related spotting and foxing. Minor surface scratches and small indentations are present, consistent with age and regular use.
