A lot comprising two vintage magnifying glasses of differing sizes and handle designs. The larger magnifier features a wide, silver-toned metal rim housing a circular glass lens, mounted to a cylindrical black ebonised wooden handle. The smaller magnifier is constructed with a silver-toned metal rim and a decorative turned brass handle featuring a contoured grip and ribbed ferrule. Large magnifier: Overall length approx. 19 cm, Lens diameter approx. 9 cm Small magnifier: Overall length approx. 15 cm, Lens diameter approx. 6.5 cm Measured against a tape measure. Condition: Both instruments are in used condition with signs of age. The glass lenses show minor surface scratches and some accumulated dust. The metal rims exhibit localised pitting and tarnish. The ebonised handle of the larger magnifier has minor surface cracking and wear to the finish. The brass handle shows typical oxidation and a natural patina.
