Marigold carnival glass bowl, ruffled hat shape on a plain collar foot, about seven inches across and three and a quarter inches tall. Strong orange marigold iridescence over clear glass. The molded outside pattern is leaves and stippled berry clusters on curved stems, what collectors call blackberry spray. The seller listed this as a possible Fenton piece. I studied the base and the entire underside and there is no mark, logo, paper label, or signature of any kind. Old carnival glass from 1908 to 1925 was almost never marked, so no mark neither rules Fenton out nor confirms it. Northwood, Imperial, Dugan, and Fenton all made ruffled marigold hat shapes with fruit and leaf patterns. I cannot confirm the maker from these photos and I am not going to guess. I can confirm real old marigold carnival glass in the hat form with a berry and leaf pattern. No chips, cracks, or flea bites on the rim or foot. Condition is very good. Authenticity has not been verified by Crawford Auction Service. Estimated Value: $25 to $50 based on comparable recent sales. Sold as-is. Photos are the most accurate description of this lot.
