Produced during World War II by E. Leitz in Wetzlar, Germany, under manufacturer ordnance code "ddv", this ZF 3x8° (Zielfernrohr 3x8°) periscopic/armored vehicle optic displays side block housing stampings reading code "ddv", serial number "20749",and specification model designation "ZF 3x8°". The scope measures 11.25 inches long (28.6 cm) with a 1-inch central tube body diameter (2.5 cm) and weighs 1,001 grams (2 lbs 3.3 oz). Constructed with heavy blued steel housing components, a flared objective bell end, and an integrated dovetail mounting rail base block with spirit level slot mount, the unit maintains solid physical structure. Optical glass condition is good overall with light dust spotting, and the internal reticle grid remains clearly visible during viewing. All dark blued factory remain unrestored, exhibiting age-appropriate paint/finish loss, flaking on the objective housing, minor surface freckling, and edge wear.
